Idaho Hunters Feeding the Hungry is a 100% hunter funded 501(c) (3) corporation whose Mission is to transform wild big game meat into nutritious food for the hungry.
Hunters with their legally harvested wild big game meat (dear, antelope, moose, or elk) deliver to an IHFH approved processor the field dressed animal. They will complete a “Donation Form-Proxy Statement” which has selected your pantry as the recipient of the processed meat. They will either donate the meat or choose to pay for the predetermined processing fee. They may also make an additional cash donation to IHFH.
We love that the generosity of our community extends to hunters donating wild game. In order to donate wild game meat, please follow the guidelines below:
- Your donation must be taken to a partner agency of The Idaho Foodbank because The Idaho Foodbank warehouse itself cannot accept wild game donations.
- It must be processed in a licensed facility into quantities that do not need to be broken down further.
- It needs to have these three things on its label: species identification, name and address of the meat processing facility, and the words “processed for donation or private use and cook to 165 degrees”
The following species can be donated to a partner agency:
- Deer
- Elk
- Moose
- Antelope
- Bison
- Reindeer
- Caribou
